when i went through a bunch of stuff

Yay! My elfwood gallery is updated! Now all my Zone47 stuff is in there with it – which I’m happy about because it seemed like zone47 was pretty ignored, I’d only get maybe 4-5 comments a year in my zone gallery. My loth gallery always got more attention, but after they took my HP stuff out of my gallery there wasn’t much for people to comment on anymore! So now I’ve got a decent little gallery there.
And I really like elfwood’s new look.

The mod who did my update mentioned that 1874 was a little too ‘normal’ for elfwood, but let her “stay with her friends.” Hee, I thought that was nice šŸ˜€ I’ll take it down next time I update because I agree – I always kinda wondered how that one got through in the first place.

Finally got some times for Paris: we leave March 4 at 5 in the afternoon, change planes in Detroit, and get into Paris on March 5 at 11 in the morning.
I think I’m the only one actually looking forward to the long plane trip šŸ™‚ I love being stuck in the car on a long car trip – I think it’s just because I can get so much drawing done. Not much else to do. I’ve never been on an international flight before, though. I think the longest I’ve been on a plane was Seattle to Memphis.

The teacher running the trip (and in charge of those of us working for the studio credit) is really nice. I’ve never had him before but I’ve seen him around. We have to write a proposal on what we want to do for the studio credit – and everything is due in march and has to be exhibit ready, which means I’m going to be in TWO exhibits at the end of this semester. blargh. I hate being in exhibits @ school. I’ve already given the paris assignment a lot of thought, tho – I’m going to stick to a more illustration style thing instead of pandering to the fine arts teacher. I’m going to push myself to do some landscape/cityscape type stuff – still in my style, but that’s just something I feel I need to work on, it’s something I always just kinda do half-heartedly, especially in illustration settings. In fine arts I’m fine cause I can kinda mush it around if I’m using charcoal or pastel or something, but when I’m actually drawing it using clean lines and ink… I suck! So I think that’s what I’m going to do.

Anyway. This weekend is going to be very busy – I have to finish my Belldandy costume because I’m shipping costumes on monday. Katsu was supposed to be relaxing, but it’s turning out to be very hectic – I may not even get around to wearing all my costumes!

I finished Tohru from Fruits Basket the other day, I posted it on my costume journal but here it is too –

Tohru In-Progress

Oh! I’ve sneezed and rebruised my ribs. I know that sounds stupid, but… it really really hurts!
Ok, running late for work now… again… what’s new…

OH! Once Groucho gets here, we’re transferring my scanner to the regular computer (since the odds of the scanner working with Groucho are like, nil), so scanning will be easy now!! No more going and waking up my computer, having to restart because the scanner came unplugged, scanning in there, shrinking it to fit on a floppy, and bringing it to the regular computer. It’s such a hassle! That’s what I have to do EVERYTIME I need to scan something. That’s why the sketchjournal is so rarely updated… But once that happens! It’ll be easy! hoo-ray!

I found this AWESOME eighties shirt that was my dad’s. It’s so freaking cool. It’s too big for me, I think I might take it in on the sides and wear it. Start a trend.

(oh, btw, got super inspiration to work on sd7 again. I don’t know where it came from, but really. I swear. I’m all excited to get it finished now. Odds are I’ll have the pages finished when I get back from paris, and after that I’ll just need to finish the text.)

OK I’m just wasting time. Got to go to work, make money, pay off credit card,,,
